Abstract

Geotracking applications have gained popularity over the past couple of years. Currently, the popular application Life360 has surpassed 50 million monthly active users globally. This thesis argues that applications like Life360 cannot be categorized as tools of care, despite appearances, due to opposed values that are inherent to the application. Accepting the values these applications bring with them is detrimental to child development.
