Abstract
This study aimed to enlarge the services of Zuidema PM by designing a decision-making method that enhances the decision-making process of the (future) customers of Zuidema PM. This practice-oriented qualitative research answered the following research question: ‘How can the decision-making method be designed to enhance the decision-making processes of the (future) customers of Zuidema PM for the purpose of enlarging the services of Zuidema PM?’
Firstly, the goal and function of the decision-making method are determined by scientific literature and the expertises of the employees of Zuidema PM. Secondly, the first design of the decision-making method, based on the determined goal and structural requirements, is constructed by scientific literature and the experiences of the employees of Zuidema PM with decision-making processes. The first design is based on the 3D-model of Achterbergh and Vriens (2016), and consists of three dimensions: functional, social and infrastructural. Due to the complexity of the three dimensions, a guide to use the decision-making method is developed. Concluded, the designed decision-making method can be a tool to enhance the decision-making processes of the (future) customers of Zuidema PM, but in order to improve the first design, Zuidema PM has to test this by means of one or more experiments in practice (Jonker, 1990).
