Abstract
This thesis explores the affective dimension of systemic violence, its perpetuation, and the obstacles to overcoming cycles of traumatization. Engaging with decoloniality scholars, it examines modernity as the dominant imaginary shaping the world through the deployment of technologies of debility. Drawing on Achille Mbembe's necropolitics and Jasbir K. Puar's insights, the thesis argues that modernity creates widespread debilitation and trauma. It emphasizes the impact of violence on interpersonal relationships and advocates for recognizing collective and generational trauma. To break the cycle, the thesis proposes a poetics of healing as the enunciation of otherwise-imaginaries informed by in decolonial love. Ultimately, it contributes to understanding trauma, modernity, and the potential for healing within systemic violence.
