Abstract
Existent research has reviewed the relationship between Organizational Identification (OI) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). However, not many studies were conducted about this issue. Therefore, this study tests this relationship to strengthen or contradict the belief about this relationship. Besides, the relation between OI and OCB was primarily measured in a traditional work situation: a situation where the employees physically work in the office. Nevertheless, Covid-19 triggered a mass social experiment in working from home (WFH). Based on prior literature, employees who work from home feel more professionally isolated, leading to adverse effects on some factors that link OI and OCB. Therefore, this study hypothesizes that perceived professional isolation negatively moderates the relation between OI and OCB. Another point of interest in this study is Online Team Collaboration (OTC), which has become more important since much more people work from home. Online team collaboration platforms enable affordances for communication. This in turn positively influences some linking factors between OI and OCB. Therefore, this study hypothesizes that OTC positively moderates the relation between OI and OCB. Two of the three hypotheses are supported in this study. OI significantly relates to OCB and OTC positively moderates this relationship.
