Abstract

This master thesis investigates how organizations within a cascading system can develop and implement a collaborative business model to create multiple value. While creating multiple value organizations can take action and allocate the necessary resources in solving environmental problems such as resource exhaustion and contribute to a more circular economy. The cascading use of recourses is one way to create value in the circular economy and is therefore the main subject of this research. There is a high level of interdependencies among the organizations within the cascading system, therefore close cooperation is necessary. The findings show that by designing and implementing a collaborative business model organizations within the cascading system can create multiple value. However, the organizations need to collaborate on a community-centric level, which is not the case yet. This is because organizations are used to focus solely on the financial aspect of the business model and little attention is given to the ecological and social impact of their business. Keywords:
