Abstract
The human-technology relation of postphenomenology risks becoming a metaphysical construct more so than a phenomenological given. Conceivable cases of enduring transparency raise the impossibility of always identifying human-technology relations in experience, and the postphenomenological instruction for technology designers asks them to know far more than the phenomenon gives. However, because the postphenomenologist does not argue for human-technology relations to necessarily precede every situation involving humans and technologies, the need for a comprehensive metaphysics can ultimately be avoided. Furthermore, comparing the human-technology relation to the saturated phenomenon affirms the former as giving too little but also reveals a capacity of blinding. Through blinding, the human-technology relation can simultaneously give too much, thereby rendering technology designers oblivious to its potential stabilities.
