This thesis is a result of a quantitative study on the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a payment method by Dutch online small and medium retailers. The multilevel as proposed by Frambach and Schillewaert (2002) was used to test the acceptance at both the individual and organizational level. A questionnaire, which is included in the appendices, was used to test both levels of the model. The analysis showed that the individual acceptance was better explained. The outcome of the research can be used by managers and owners of a web shop to stimulate intra-organizational acceptance. Furthermore, payment service providers could use the results to foster the organizational acceptance. The limitations for the study are also discussed in the report. Last, some directions for future research are given at the end of the report. Which can be used to increase the validity and reliability of both the results and questionnaire, but also to (re)test the rather surprising outcomes of the research.en_US
