Abstract
This master thesis discusses Félicité de Genlis’ political thought against the background of different intellectual movements of the French eighteenth century: the radical Enlightenment, the religious Enlightenment or moderate Enlightenment, and the Counter-Enlightenment. The main aim of this project is to study Genlis’ political ideas from a diachronic perspective, proposing Genlis’ exile to Germany as a structuring element of her political thought. More precisely, its goal is to determine a possible development in Genlis’ position in the debate about the revolutionary value of the equality of citizens.
