Abstract
A Grounded Theory study into the role (and maturity) of the university as a catalyst of Social Entrepreneurship in Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. This study considers the role of universities in the realm of Social Entrepreneurship, in the Netherlands. It provides insight in the functions that universities could assume/adopt and their maturity, (potential) university initiatives, motives for university participation in Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystems (SEE’s), recommendations for structural reform and a trajectory for future developments.
