Abstract

This thesis aimed to investigate the relationships between elements of the work environment with employee turnover intentions in the biotechnology sector. It was expected that organizational inclusion and psychological safety would be positively related to employees’ intention to stay at their work, and negatively related to employees’ intentions to leave their jobs. A cross-sectional research design was used, collecting data through means of a digital questionnaire. Multiple regression analyses showed that neither organizational inclusion, nor psychological safety were directly related to intention to stay and intention to leave. However, the analyses showed that the overall models were significant in both cases, meaning that the combination of organizational inclusion and psychological safety was related to both intention to stay and intention to leave. Based on these findings, the recommendations for the host organization focused on increasing the levels of these factors of the work environment. Keywords: Turnover intentions, Inclusion, Psychological safety, Intention to leave, Intention to Stay, Conservation of Resources theory.
