dc.description.abstract | Changes-of-mind are an observation in sensorimotor decision making where a movement trajectory is altered when, according to some theories, the evaluation of assembled sensory evidence results in revoking the initial motor decision after already been translated into motion. Seeking to extend the findings of recent research about the influence of biomechanical cost on the probability of changes of-mind occurrences, this study tries to teach the research subjects higher cost contrasts in order to find previously not-found effects of resistant force fields on that probability. The results of this study do once again not support the existence of such an influence, and it is discussed that this kind force fields might not be able to emulate movement resistance that is strong and obvious enough to be understood by subjects sufficiently well to provoke cost-avoiding behaviour. Also, more evidence for post-decision sensory evaluation processing is gathered. Keywords: changes-of-mind, sensorimotor decision making, biomechanical cost | en_US |
