Abstract
The goal of this thesis was to determine whether multi-sectoral partnerships can be a conflict sensitive
solution to the problems with the post-conflict economic development in Afghanistan. In order to do
this, twelve multi-sectoral partnerships in Afghanistan and in other post-conflict countries, have been
discussed. A checklist for conflict sensitivity has been filled out for each project. In addition, the
problems that occur in the post-conflict economic development of Afghanistan have been examined.
Based on the results of this research it can be concluded that multi-sectoral partnerships are neither
conflict sensitive nor conflict insensitive by nature. Furthermore, it can be concluded that multisectoral
partnerships are no solution to all problems in the post-conflict economic development in
Afghanistan, but can be a valuable addition to the post-conflict development process.
