Abstract
This study is focused on preventing intoxicated driving on shared e-scooters. Using a VR headset, a virtual environment was created in which the effects of alcohol were simulated. In this virtual environment, participants were presented with a scenario where they are confronted with a choice between taking the scooter, accepting alternative transportation or doing neither. A focus is placed on sensation seeking, indecisiveness and the influence of personalised warning messages on choice. Findings of the research suggest that personalisation does not significantly affect the choice people make. Neither do sensation seeking or indecisiveness have any significant effect as moderator and mediator.
