Abstract

Cochlear implant users face di culties in perceiving music. In this paper we try to improve music perception for cochlear implant users. Previous work has shown that cochlear implant users rely during music perception mainly on rhythm and vocal perception. Using the Wave-U-Net model we will remix songs in order to amplify audible features for CI-users. We evaluated the e ect of the ampli cation of the features by comparing the original and modi ed music excerpt through a CI-simulator. We could not nd a signi cant preference for remixed songs compared to unmodi ed songs. In a second experiment, we evaluated the participant's individual mixing preferences. Participants could remix between three parameters: drums, vocals and other. We did not nd nd any signi cant preference for one category over another.
