dc.description.abstractPresent study uses recently published Dutch corpora BasiLex and BasiScript to investigate the growth of vocabulary size in primary school children and how this growth of vocabulary size is re ected in the texts presented to children. BasiLex is a 11.5 million word corpus containing texts written for children, whereas BasiScript contains 9 million words written by children. By comparing these corpora, a unique glimpse can be given in how we in uence children vocabulary development by the texts we present to our children.en_US
