This thesis aims to analyze to what extent American exceptionalism influenced visual Marshall Plan propaganda in Europe during the Marshall Plan years. I will examine how the US emerged as a hegemony after the Second World War. Moreover, I will discuss how the notion of American exceptionalism changed during the MP years. Lastly, I will analyze two different MP films and state how these films influenced Europeans to implement American ideologies such as modernism.
