Abstract

Children with autism spectrum disorders can benefit from having careful structure in their lives [Palmen et al., 2012]. Designing the Agenda Coach, a digital personal agenda which provides structure and extra information to the user, is done in 3 steps. Interview questions were built by combining knowledge of ASD [Campbell et al., 1996], [MacDu et al., 1993] and HCI [Tognazzini, 1992], [Rogers et al., 2011]. The interviews were conducted on ten persons which have experience with children with ASD. Design and functional requirements were abstracted from the results of these interviews. A prototype is built and tested on two children with ASD. This resulted in positive feedback on the usage of the Agenda Coach.
