dc.description.abstract | The necessity of addressing climate change is perceived to be pressing. Organisaitons are seen as key contributors. Some organisations have issued environmental improvement pledges. To act, a strategic approach and dedication is needed. Green Human Resource Management emerges as an avenue to cultivate environmental commitment, potentially propelling OS. The research aim is to develop the existing theory of Green HRM as an enabler of OS, by examining what kind of Green HRM reinforces OS and the mediating effect of environmental commitment in this reinforcement. A conceptual framework was tested in five Dutch based organisations. Findings indicate the Green HRM talent management practices have made cautious inroads into organisations studied. Adoption of green practices still appear to largely resemble those of traditional HRM. A shared agenda between departments is recommended for a more explicit interpretation of Green HRM, thereby strenghtening the road toward OS by means of higher environmental commitment. | |
