dc.description.abstract | The Netherlands have a reputation for being a sophisticated country in many aspects. Creative writing, however, is not one of them. Despite the popularity of this phenomenon in for instance the Anglo-Saxon world and it being offered as education in many countries; the Netherlands provide merely one official study in the field of creative writing anno 2015. Peculiarly, this program is only offered at college level. The lack of creative writing-programs at universities is questionable, especially due to the Netherlands being known for its appreciation of art and creativity. This thesis will research which obstacles Creative writing – particularly the professional circuit – encountered in the Netherlands and whether or not the Dutch literary landscape is finally beginning to reject Romantic dogmas. | en_US |
