| dc.description.abstract | This study contains an overview of what the discourse surrounding EuroVelo 15 as a sustainable tourism initiative is, looking at interviews with stakeholders and blogs by current users. EuroVelo is a European cycling network, that aims to connect Europe by bicycle and offer a sustainable holiday option, alternative to mainstream mass tourism. This research is important in the field of sustainable tourism with applications to alternative development and slow tourism, as it offers new insights into the perspectives of local communities and cycling tourists in Europe. It adopts a people-centred approach in order to examine the social context and discursive patterns. | |
