dc.description.abstractThis thesis addresses the following question: what is the place of Embodied Cognition (EC) in the philosophy of mind and the cognitive sciences? Is it compatible with the mainstream positions in philosophy of mind or is it something quite different? Is it just one example of the many approaches within the cognitive sciences or is it a radical different approach? It is concluded that there are no strict reasons to consider EC as an approach that is opposed to other parts of cognitive science. On the contrary, there seems to be a tendency to reintegrate EC with the main stream positions in the philosophy of mind and the cognitive sciences.en_US
