The purpose of this thesis is to question, and ultimately show, the intrinsic value of Brutalist buildings, in other words, the architecture's ability to affect, by indicating the affective qualities of the manifestations that I hereafter analyse, or, how these affects are built. I argue that it is precisely the movement within which these structures have been erected that enables us to experience its architecture at full strength for its ability to affect.en_US
