This thesis aimed to identify factors that influence the motivation of employees at engineering firm BOOT. To this end, a theoretical model was created based on goal setting theory and self-determination theory. This model was tested by having BOOT employees complete a survey (N=56). Significant relations were found between belongingness and connectedness with others and motivation (p < .05) and perceived difficulty and motivation (p < .05). Also, a highly significant moderating effect was found of goal specificity on the relation between perceived difficulty and motivation (p < .01).en_US
