dc.description.abstractThis paper describes the creation of a language course in English hospitality for support staff, created as an internship assignment for Radboud In’to Languages. Our assignment was to create a language course that would first teach support staff at Radboud University to be more polite and hospitable in English, and which would then be flexible enough to be reused for support staff elsewhere. The assignment was also to create a course which would be fully available digitally, and which could be used to create a course without much preparation for the teacher. This thesis explains the process of building the course from needs analysis to materials design, and provides support for the methods and approaches that were chosen as our framework. The result of this process was an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course in English hospitality for support staff, designed according to the task-based approach with influences f! rom blend ed teaching and the flipped classroom. The course was designed in the form of nineteen individual task-based modules, which can be used in any combination to fit the needs of any group of learners.en_US
