What is it about the
fairytale, Cinderella that has historically inspired and continues to inspire a multitude of
adaptations of the story within American visual media? The Cinderella story is discussed in terms
of its elements as an oral and literary tale, as well as its place within adaptation studies; specifically,
film adaptations.
