Abstract
This research aims to investigate the impact biodiversity enhancing innovations in nature-inclusive solar parks have on the social acceptance. This is done by conducting interviews with various experts and with relevant literature. The research is conducted through the lens of the VESPA concept, which entails the themes biodiversity, visual appearance, socio-economic conditions and lastly governance. The results are discussed per theme and subsequently overlaps and collaborative possibilities of the combined themes are considered. The conclusion of the research is that social acceptance can be influenced by biodiversity enhancing innovations in nature-inclusive solar parks, albeit indirectly. The different external effects, do improve social acceptance. Also, if the local community is included meaningfully in the procedure, social acceptance will also improve. Therefore, a base plan should be devised with a multi-year strategy, in close collaboration with the local community.
