Abstract

This research aims to fill the gap by examining the degree to which technology paradoxes affect users’ affective well-being and coping strategies within the domain of Social Networking Services (SNS) mobile applications. The comprehensive framework was used and designed by Mick and Fournier (1998). The framework by Mick and Fournier (1998) entails eight technology paradoxes, whereby six were investigated among Facebook and Instagram users. An online questionnaire with a sample of 209 was conducted. The statistical technique PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data with software ADANCO. The research consisted of two dependent variables, six independent variables and two mediating variables. The results revealed that direct effects were found between the technology paradoxes and affective well-being. Also, direct effects were found on the technology paradoxes and coping strategies moreover, indirect effects were found between the technology paradoxes on coping strategies through affective well-being.
