Abstract

The Impact of Strategic Orientation Choice Towards Market Capitalization Growth: A Study on Indonesia’s LQ45 Index Firms This study provided an academic examination of the impact of different strategic orientations on firms’ market capitalization growth. Two strategic orientations that were used in this study, proactive and defensive strategic orientations, are based on Miles and Snow’s concept of strategy typology. The data for this study are publicly accessible and mostly came from LSEG Workspace/Refinitiv. Analyses that were used in this study are Strategic Composite Measurement and Regression analysis. This study also utilises several control variables, namely, profitability, firm size, and industry sectors. The results showed that strategic orientation in itself does not have a direct impact on market capitalization but some industry sectors showed positive impacts to market capitalization growth. Further explanation has been provided in the fifth chapter of this study.
