Abstract
Colombia is a country known for its violent history especially the periods of La Violenca and the decades of war between the FARC and the Colombian government. In 2016 a peace agreement between the two mentioned parties was signed. However, it is disputable how legitimate this agreement was. According to the prevailing perspective in this paper, the peace agreement was deemed legitimate, but the implementation of it was not. Nonetheless it is important to keep in mind that legitimacy lies in the eye of the beholder and can be influenced by various forms of propaganda.
