Abstract
The motivation of secondary school students in the Netherlands is generally very low (OECD, 2016). This thesis aimed to raise (intrinsic) motivation through the use of a TTRPG called Realm of Knowledge, which was made for this thesis specifically. Surveys were used to check changes in motivation and the results show that intrinsic motivation within the experiment group increased by almost 11% and extrinsic motivation by 1%. Amotivation became more neutral by approximately 2%. Therefore it can be concluded that Realm of Knowledge was successful in increasing motivation for this specific experiment group.
