All humans sleep, which is necessary for living a healthy life. However, as a result of the increased use of technological devices, more and more people are having difficulty falling asleep these days. In the United States, nine out of ten people admit to using a technological device in the hours before going to bed. Furthermore, people who use social media frequently are more likely to experience anxiety, insomnia, , and short sleep duration on weeknights. A single unit technical sleep device that eliminates phone distractions while providing other sleep-related features is one possible solution. However, little research has been conducted to determine how willing and able people are to adopt a product like this. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to see how well the adjusted UTAUT2 model explains the intention of young adults in the Netherlands to use a single unit sleep device. The adjusted UTAUT2 model consists of 7 factors: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, and trust. This study included 274 Dutch young adults between the ages of 18 and 35, as well as 4 interviewees. The results demonstrated that the model was capable of predicting behavioural intentions toward using a single unit sleep device. Performance expectation, price, and hedonic motivation all had a significant positive effect on behavioural intention. The other constructs were insignificant and thus could not be interpreted. This study adds to our understanding of technology acceptance models, behavioural intention, and bedroom behaviour. These findings may also be of interest to product developers working on a single-unit sleep device.en_US
