Abstract
The motivation of BASF's vegetable seeds business is to make healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable. Regarding sustainable plant cultivation and seed production, a clear understanding of the adoption of sustainable process technology in farming is crucial. This research aims to give guidance to BASF to improve sustainable process technology adoption at the global farm- and production locations by investigating the actual and desired situation regarding internal support and technological capabilities on sustainable process technology adoption. Findings of this research are that top-management support resource provision, as part of internal support, has a significant, positive effect on sustainable process technology adoption at BASF. Top-management support vision-sharing and internal stakeholder interaction, also examined as part of internal support, have no significant effect on the adoption of sustainable process technology. Also, technological capabilities, examined with the dimensions' technological opportunism and quality of human capital, has no significant effect on sustainable process technology adoption.
