Abstract

This study explores organisational strategies used for the adoption of complex technologies in the healthcare sector. Whereby the focus is specifically on the usage of VR. An interpretivism paradigm is used and this paired with an inductive and qualitative case study. By utilising the Technology Acceptance Model, Strategy-as-Practice, and sociomateriality this study provides a comprehensive understanding of the adoption process of complex technologies among end users. This study employs multiple data collection methods, these are semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and participant observation in order to provide a comprehensive understanding of the phenomena being researched.
