The under researched concept of team cultural intelligence (CQ) shifted progressively into the focus of business managers and researchers against the background of globalization while essential literature gaps still remain. This research aimed to fill some of these literature gaps with regard to predictors of team CQ and its effects on the team innovative work behaviour (IWB) by conducting a quantitative study with a deductive approach. The results showed that inclusive leadership, climate for innovation and individual CQ are all significant predictors of team CQ and are positively related to this construct. Furthermore, climate for innovation and team CQ have ultimately a positive impact on the team IWB. However, in particular striking was the finding that neither language proficiency nor international working experience have any effect on individual or team CQ. All in all, important scientific and managerial implications can be derived from these findings regarding the training and recruiting processes of crosscultural teams as well as future research opportunities.en_US
