The notion of heritage is becoming more and more important in our modern society. There is a trend to remember everything and objects are kept as living reminders of our sanctified past. Heritage, however, is not the innocent notion it seems to be. Still, more and more objects become heritage and are injected with new values and meanings. One can speak of a certain musealization of heritage whereby many objects are put in a museum and become heritage. In this thesis I discuss the musealization of DOMunder in Utrecht. This museum, recently opend and already a huge success, is aimed at the experience of visitors. Because the museum is a combination of the traditional museum and the modern ‘experience-based’ museum, DOMunder is an interesting subject for a research.en_US
