Supply chain transparency could be a positive development in reducing the negative side-effects of industries with dispersed global supply chains. However, supply chain transparency in its current form is being criticized in the current empirical debate. Therefore, more knowledge about supply chain transparency in different contexts is required. This study focusses on an industry with a large social and environmental impact, the fast fashion industry, and studied the question: What aspects of supply chain transparency are disclosed by the largest fast fashion firms that are participating in the Dutch AGT since 2016? A content analysis of the public communication of the large fast-fashion firms that are participants of the Dutch Agreement on sustainable Garments and Textiles was conducted to analyze which aspects of supply chain transparency these firms disclose, using the theoretical framework derived from Gardner et al., (2019) By revealing the significant gaps in the reporting of large fast fashion firms, this study provides a better understanding of the shortcomings in transparency that are currently in play in the Dutch context. The findings also suggest that those firms, which began reporting early are more advanced, suggesting that supply chain transparency needs to be understood as a stepwise process.en_US
