| dc.description.abstract | In today’s world, climate change is the most important aspect that needs to be taken care of. Climate variabilities and climate extreme conditions are occurring in every part of the world, and this impacts the socio-economic, political and ecological states of various regions of the world. Climate change is invariably the most devastating challenges that we are facing today. Thus, there is an urgent need to adapt to these climatic changes. The aim of this thesis was to find the institutional barriers or opportunities for Mega cities in India, to adapt to the consequences of climate change while using traditional local practices. In order to conduct this research, the qualitative research method was used by taking interviews of 6 experienced climate change and adaptation professionals from India. The entire research questions and result analysis was based on the Policy arrangement approach and its 4 dimensions to fit in the barriers and opportunities of climate change adaptation through traditional practices in urban India. This approach illustrates the 4 dimensions (rules and regulations, resources and power, actors and discourses) on the basis of barriers and solutions to implement few traditional practices as an adaptive measure to climate change in urban India. | en_US |
