dc.description.abstractThis thesis investigates the reception of crime novels in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany by looking at the most frequently mentioned textual aspects in amateur reviews from Goodreads.com and Amazon.com. This thesis demonstrates that the most frequently mentioned textual aspects had to do with the plot's efficiency, the plot's vitality and the plot's emotionality, meaning that these qualities are appreciated on an international level.en_US
