dc.description.abstractThis research discusses the responsiveness of students in two courses taught at the Department of English Language and Culture of Radboud University. The aim is to expose the possible causes for their limited or non-participation, which has been reported to be a source of discontent by both lecturers and students. The central theory that shall be used is that of the Bystander Effect, supported by a chapter investigating the importance of sufficient preparation.en_US
