This Bachelor thesis explores the politics of taste and its role in shaping social hierarchies through an examination of front gardens in a rural Dutch village. The thesis argues that aesthetic preferences and practices related to front gardens vary significantly across different social classes and even reflect and reproduce it due to differences in resources of economic and cultural capital.
