dc.description.abstractThe current study investigates how the interaction between Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Multicultural Personality Traits (MPQ)—specifically cultural empathy, open-mindedness, and social initiative—influences the sense of belonging among international students and employees in multicultural settings. The study further examines whether cultural orientation (individualism vs. collectivism) and stay duration (short-term vs. long-term) moderate this relationship. Results showed that MPQ traits and their interaction with CQ significantly predicted belonging in academic contexts, whereas CQ alone was not a significant predictor. However, no significant results were found for employees. Furthermore, neither stay duration among employees nor cultural orientation within either group significantly moderated the interaction between CQ and MPQ on sense of belonging.
