dc.description.abstract | This thesis discusses the work of Erich Przywara in the context of the controversy about the analogia entis with Karl Barth, which is continued in the work of Keith Johnson and John Betz. A close reading of some later essays of Przywara proves the intrinsic connection between his ‘theology of Christ’ and the analogia entis. Only an analogical understanding of being enables the ‘unity-in-tension’ of God and creature in Christ. Philosophy participates in Adam’s fall, but also in Christ’s redemption as its de-absolutization. Philosophy and theology culminate in a reductio in mysterium, an awareness of the omnipresence of the ‘ever greater’ God. The same understanding of the connection between Christ and the analogia entis is found in Przywara’s early work. | en_US |
