The thesis examines how production and editing choices in The Ultimatum shape its portrayal of postfeminist ideologies regarding gender roles and racial identities. The analysis highlights how the show reflects postfeminism’s focus on individualism, choice feminism, and the ideal of "having it all." The Ultimatum reveals a tension between promoting women's agency and reinforcing societal expectations of femininity. The study underscores how media representations contribute to maintaining normative gender and racial dynamics while appearing progressive, making the show a compelling case study of postfeminist contradictions in contemporary reality television.
