dc.description.abstractThe aim of this master thesis is the improvement of Quality of Care and Quality of Work on the nursing department of a hospital by looking into the parameters in the structure on the nursing departments and the division of tasks of the Care Supporting Employees and the relation of this division of work of the Care Supporting Employees with the nurses. The central research question in this research was ‘What is the relation between: 1) gaps between the normative and actual quality of Basic Care and the gaps between the normative and actual structure and 2) gaps between the normative and actual quality of Work on the nursing departments and the gaps between the normative and actual structure and how can the structure be adjusted in order to increase Quality of Work and Quality of Care of the hospital?’ For the answering of this question, three departments have been investigated. To answer this research question, a qualitative study has been executed in which documents, observations and interviews with Care Supporting Employees and nurses from the three departments have been executed. Concluding, recommendations have been given for all three departments.en_US
