dc.description.abstractThis thesis shows the position of publishers of Young Adult Literature (YAL) in the literary field in the Netherlands. It focuses on two of the main publishers namely Blossom Books and Best of YA. By describing these publishers in terms of different types of capital (by means of John B. Thompsons model as described in Merchants of Culture) the posture (a concept of Jérôme Meizoz) and image of Blossom Books and Best of YA are revealed. Although their positions are different, they both position themselves as open, approachable and personal publishers which stimulate reading among young adults. Increasingly this positions is recognised by other actors within the field. This research shows how these two publishers function as pioneers in community building within the book business in the Netherlands.en_US
