Abstract

Human behavior is to a large extent driven by individual preferences. EEG experiments have shown different brain responses for preferred and non-preferred stimuli. Brain responses occurred at stimuli onset which suggests that preferences can be encoded without the need for making a conscious decision and taking action. The aim of this project is to show that these differences could be used to decode personal preference for colors and shapes based on EEG signals. This could be used to gain insight into one’s own preferences or as a communication technique for locked-in patients.
