This bachelor thesis is focused on the migration trajectories of academic migrants and refugees into the European Union. The European border regime makes a distinction between different migrants based on their specific set of skills and knowledge and their country of origin. Through an analysis of the experiences during the travelling trajectory of the migrants that are categorised in the two groups mentioned above, I dive into the underlaying causes of differences between these experiences and explore how they influence the placemaking processes of individual migrants.en_US
