dc.description.abstractBradberry et al. [1] has shown that the assumption that brain signals obtained through electroencephalography(EEG) do not contain enough information to decode complex movements such as 3d hand movements is invalid. He showed this by running an experiment where participants had to make self-initiated center-out reaches. He estimated these movements by decoding the EEG signal and showed comparable results to more invasive recording methods. For my thesis I replicated this experiment and showed comparable results to that of Bradberry et al.. However, there were some complications which makes our results not truly comparable.
