The relation between innovation and firm performance has always been a very tricky, yet important one. This study sets out to understand this relation in more detail by looking at the different innovation types; product innovation, product-service innovation, organizational innovation and technological innovation, and their potential interactive effects on firm performance. The research question: “To what extend do the different innovation types have a combined effect on firm performance in the Dutch manufacturing industry?” is explored through testing eight hypotheses with multiple hierarchical multiple linear regression analyses. The data used to test these hypotheses is obtained from the EMS survey dataset of 2018. The dataset consists out of 203 manufacturing firms in the Netherlands. The results show that there is a significant positive effect of product innovation and technological process capabilities on firm growth, especially employee growth. Product innovation and organizational capabilities had a significant negative effect on firm growth. Furthermore, the combination of organizational capabilities and product-service innovation had a significant positive effect on firm growth.en_US
