This research aims to provide more awareness about critical issues and challenges related to sustainability within non-profit organizations, by doing an in-depth investigation at the organizational and management part of non-profit organizations within the case Cross Your Borders. The main research question is: How are non-profit organizations involved in a sustainable way of organization and management (within the case Cross Your Borders)? The theoretical concepts of ‘Sustainability’, ‘People, Planet and Profit’, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, ‘Organizational Learning’, ‘Features of CSR 2.0’ and ‘CSR-guidelines’ are applied to the case in conjunction, showing that Cross Your Borders has knowledge about sustainability but it is not fully developed. They have interest and involvement in sustainability and their awareness is increasing. The integral part of sustainability should be incorporated into their identity and policies. This also means that the management board has to responsibly use CSR-principles when making and implementing decisions.en_US
